What is JUUL2 and how does it work?
Launched in early 2022, JUUL2 is a sleek and simple device that consists of a battery and a pre-filled pod. The e-liquid is heated by an integrated coil and turned into vapour that the user inhales. The e-liquid is formulated with nicotine salts, which are a form of nicotine that is more similar to the natural state of nicotine in tobacco leaves. Nicotine salts are supposed to provide a smoother and faster absorption of nicotine than freebase formulas, which is the most common form of nicotine in e-liquids.

The study also assessed the users’ ratings of satisfaction, craving reduction, aversion, and harm perception after using each product.
The results showed that nicotine delivery was greatest for combustible cigarettes, followed by JUUL2 in 40 mg/mL, IQOS, JUUL2 in 18 mg/mL, and JUUL in 59 mg/mL. Nicotine delivery from JUUL2 in 18 mg/mL was significantly greater than JUUL in 59 mg/mL after ad libitum use, which suggests that JUUL2 has a more efficient nicotine delivery system than JUUL. JUUL products were significantly more satisfying and effective at reducing craving than IQOS, which indicates that nicotine delivery is not the only factor that influences the user’s experience. JUUL2 in 40 mg/mL was significantly more aversive than other JUUL products, which means that it was too harsh and unpleasant for some users. - this entire section disregards TPD laws.
